Cycling

With its unspoilt countryside and fantastic scenery, Northumberland is an ideal area for cycling. The Reivers Cycle Route takes its name from the feuding Reivers Family Clans who terrorised  northern England and the Scottish Borders in the 15th and 16th centuries. The Reivers Cycle Route is an exhilarating 175 mile route across England’s Border Country, using quiet off-road tracks and minor roads the route runs from Tynemouth to Whitehaven, taking in the Northumberland National Park, Kielder Water, the Borders, Carlisle and the Lake District. The route is sometimes referred to as the “Return C2C” as it can be combined with the famous C2C route to make a circular route across the north of England. The route passes The Black Bull Hotel making us a perfect place to stay and recuperate.
